The Final Lap Before We Say Goodbye to TP...

Today marks the last day of our study in TP and it was also one of our important day because our 15% of our Major Project is based on our last presentation.

Since its the final presentation we gonna have in TP, we have to dress up nicely just for the last time.

Somehow, thinking about the fact that we are gonna graduate from TP makes me happy and sad at the same time.

I mean i'm happy that i've finally completed the entire journey of SIP and MP but whenever i think about leaving this bunch of wonderful classmates, i really feel sad and reluctant to see everybody going their separate ways.

Anyway, we took A LOT of pictures for memories of the FINALE and i really mean a lot!

Maybe after reading my post title, you will start singing in your mind cuz it reminds you of a childhood song...

Oh well, just continue reading and you will know what i mean.

It seems like a lot of birthday celebrations are held in Fish & Co.

I can already dig out some from my archives.

Fish & Co is quite a nice place to celebrate birthday partly because they sing birthday rap for the birthday person and the best part is you get a 10% discount off your bill! :)

However, we went Fish & Co not because of the discount or the birthday rap, but because there were no other halal restaurant in AMK Hub! :/

Seriously?

Anyway, here is Fish & Co's new menu again! Why do they always keep changing?

Actually before we were even in AMK Hub, the three of us went down to Baxter Bioscience to give Crystal a surprise. The three of us left three weeks before her cuz our intership has ended and we leave her alone which i know its kinda sad :/

And i really don't want to leave her alone during her birthday, so we decided to give her surprise.

It was somewhat a surprise la, cuz she kinda knows we gonna surprise her! Too smart already! :p

But at the later part of the night, we managed to surprise her a little...

A lot of flashbacks start to appear in our minds while walking through the pathway to Baxter. Like the things we used to say everyday without fail and the jokes we made.

One of thing that i probably miss the most is the gossips during lunch hours!

Anyway, our plan to fetch Crystal failed because she cannot leave work yet as she was late for that day. So we head down to AMK Hub to settle down first.

Finally, Crystal arrived at around 6 plus and we ordered our food!

Usually, whenever i go Fish & Co, i will order their Fish & Chips. Actually, i think i always order that cuz it's like the safest dish?

This time round is different, i ordered Grilled Pollock with Peri Peri Sauce

The fish taste quite nice but i don't really like the sauce because it's kinda too salty for me.

But i really love Fish & Co fries because they always sprinkle them with paprika powder! ^^

Somehow, nana said that the chicken appeals her more than the fish...

After we are almost done with our food, i pretended that i was going to the toilet and ask one of the staff to prepare the surprise.

Beforehand, we already ordered a slice of cake and told the staff about our plan to surprise Crystal.

When the Fish & Co staff hand the fire sticks (or whatever you call it), she was a bit shocked

Then the staff start singing the rap for her and then the birthday song!

And coincidentally, another person was having the same birthday as her.

HAPPY 24TH BIRTHDAY!

Although the times we spent together was short, you are really a great friend. The times spent during the internship was really memorable. Thanks! :)

I really like the cosy feeling when i stepped inside. It gives a very heart-warming feeling as though you are at home.

That's how it looks like from inside. As you can see, the yellow lighting gives the warm feeling.

And amazingly, it kinda slows down our eating pace. It's like you will take your time to enjoy the breakfast and not just gobble everything down within 10mins and rush off to work.

Sometimes, you just have to pamper yourself a little and treat yourself to a hearty breakfast!

This was what i ordered: English Breakfast

Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon, sausage, mushroom, potatoes and baked beans! Seriously, one word to describe and that is wow!

Guess how much this cost...

$22! I know its pretty expensive but i can assure you its definitely worth the price!

After eating this, you can forget about the Big Breakfast in Mcdonalds.

This is Canadian Breakfast which comes with pancakes and bacon.

The pancakes are so soft and fluffy!

After such an awesome breakfast, i went on to explore unisim and ngee ann polytechnic.

Notice why i said explore? Cuz i think we literally walk the entire campus -.-

And plus the school is pretty huge, not like temasek polytechnic.

On a happier note, at least we managed to find the place that we wanted! I kinda had a mini sense of accomplishment :p

Aftermath, we head on to The Grand Cathay for movies.

This is the forth movie i watched this month, seriously! I swear i've never watched so many in a month before.

ONE FOR THE MONEY

Basically, this movie revolves around a woman who is in need of money. For the sake of money, she agreed on taking up the job as an agent.

The movie is pretty nice i would say, just that it can be a little boring for some people.

I really enjoyed today's movie mainly because of the cinema we were in.

The theatre is really huge that can fit dont know how many humans! 0.0

And the seats are so comfy :)

Even the screen looks different. It's kinda like a different experience as compared to the other cathaycineplex.

Maybe i sound abit sua ku but this is just how i really feel.

After movies, we had a quick dinner and head home straight. Sometimes, going out for the whole day kinda drains a lot of your energy. Maybe im getting old! :/

But i really enjoy the company today. Sometimes, it's not only about the place you went, the food you ate or the mood you are in, it's the person that you are with that makes the difference :)

The End of Our Marathon - SIP

Yesterday marks the ending of our internship for 20 weeks...

Time really flies...i still remember how nervous i was on my first day at work.

And i totally felt so lonely over there cuz i simply don't know anyone.

I even blogged about it saying how sad my life was over there:

Now, not only i completed the entire journey, i also make lots of friends there which i really hope i will still keep in contact with :)

As you know, the last day is always the most hectic. Not because of the work, but the number of things you need to get signatures from your supervisor! :/

My supervisor really feels like a celebrity yesterday signing my logbooks, clearance form and performance appraisal -.-

I'm really glad that i have a nice supervisor and that he always close one eye when dealing with work.

Even though my MP logbook was not entirely real data, he still signed for me! He also said i don't have to tell him anything cuz he don't want to know! :p

And my performance appraisal was great too! I'm happy to see the grades la but i don't know if it was really true or what...

oh well...most importantly, as long as i can pass, it's okay right? ;)
I really appreciate all his time and effort for this entire 20 weeks of internship.
Before i leave Baxter, i also send an email to my department - manufacturing upstream to extend my thanks and appreciation to many people who i have worked together with.
i took like almost an hour to think of what to say and all that, this totally shows how sincere my message was. (No kidding okay?)

To "celebrate", i met up with sihui for dinner at town. We went to olive vine at marina square. I went there once with rimes and rachel which i have blogged about it before:

We then got a text from Bella that they were going to mdm pat's house for visiting and i decided to follow as well.

Throughout the night, they were playing blackjack. Not playing but gambling actually. Well...i skipped it cuz i really don't want to gamble.

I mean i do play poker cards but i don't like the idea of gambling.

Someday, i want to learn how to play texas poker. The rest are like so good at it that i think i should pick up too!

Happy CNY - Goodbye Rabbit & Hello Dragon! :)

This year's Chinese New Year was so much earlier than we all expected.

Usually, it falls during the early or mid February but this time round, CNY was on 23th and 24th of January.

Despite the shortage of time for preparation, many people still manage to complete spring cleaning, buying of new year goodies and new clothes just in time.

Well...for me, the only thing that im probably happy for CNY this year is because THERE'S NO EXAMS! ^^

You may not know, for the past two years during polytechnic, i always dread CNY because my semestral exams always falls right after that.

I mean who will have the mood to celebrate when they know they gotta study for their exams man :/

So this year was different cuz we are all having internship which then allows us to enjoy as much as we wished!

It was a good thing that CNY this year falls on weekend which then gives us a long holiday of 4 consecutive days! (:

p.s. Im combining all activities within three days within one long post

Friday(T.G.I.F) - 200112

Its was like a normal day at work and i thought that its gonna be another boring friday going back home alone and whatever.

But then, i had a nice dinner at some place which i have not been before despite the fact that the place was rather well known. Of course, im not alone and someone was treating me which totally makes my day :)

We went to HAND BURGER at Raffles City Mall.

I remember i heard this place before in some TV shows but just cant seem to recall.

Anyway, since it was my first time here, i didnt know what was nice so i kinda just listen to the recommendations given to me.

So this was what i ordered: *points below*

CHICKEN CAESAR burger

To simplify it, its a grilled chicken burger.

The serving is really huge for me, i think guys is still alright. It comes with a side which you can choose: fries, mushroom soup or salad.

As a number one fries fan, of course i picked that!

The burger is nice cuz i really like their special caeser dressing. Im somebody who does not really like caeser dressing due to the strong taste but this is alright. And plus, its not oily and therefore you wont feel very sick after eating it.

DUCK CONFIT burger

As the name suggests, this burger is obviously made of duck meat and also their home made orange sauce.

This burger is really unique cuz you dont get to see it everywhere. And even if you see it elsewhere, i doubt it will taste as good as this!

I guess the duck and orange really goes well together (:

He picked his burger with mushroom soup which i dont quite like it because i find it too bland. But the good thing about the soup is that it has bits and pieces of mushrooms inside.

This ice blended drink is known as LEMONADE MINT

I swear my eyes totally lit up when i saw this in the menu! :p

Its a cool combination i would say, very refreshing drink! I likeeee~

"TWIN SIBLINGS POWER!"

And right after i say that, you can roughly guess what i meant ;) I went to catch JACK & JILL in Golden Village Tampines Mall.

Honestly speaking, when i know that Adam Sandler was acting in this show, i was telling myself that i have to catch it cuz i really like the movies that he acted in.

In this movie, he acted as two characters who were twins and the whole story goes about within his entire family. Its really a very funny show and i think you should catch it before it ends!

Throughout the entire movie, i was laughing like crazy!

REUNION DINNER 除夕夜

Actually, we were supposed to have steamboat this year like what my mum promised me.

But then, the plans changed when my dad didnt like the idea. Sometimes, i really wonder why he dislikes steamboat so much.

Anyway, i was pretty disappointed about it but then i felt better when my mum cooked lots of nice dishes to make up for steamboat.

The signature dish for that day was Home Cooked Chilli Crab

It looks really tempting right...of course i know! :p

I ate really a lot because all of them gave up eating and i had to finish everything.

It was so spicy that it gives me stomach problems later in the night :/

In addition to the chilli crab, my mum also prepared steam prawns and sambal stingray!

And of course what's CNY without our favourite goodies!

CNY Day 1 (大年初一) - 230112

Just for CNY, i convinced myself to wear a dress for this special day!

Seriously, to see me wearing a dress its like once in a blue moon.

I cant really tell you the colour cuz i cant figured out myself either. Its like in the middle of green and blue.

I bought this from gmarket at around $10 which i find it really worth it!

Upon reaching my maternal grandparents' house, somebody was really excited to see me and she started making a lot of noises.

She even started barking loudly even before i step in.

She's really an adorable dog but a little racist because she always barks very loudly when any malay walk past the house. She's always very excited to see anybody (:

Elina's sexy pose. Its like her favourite position. Usually, dogs likes to sit or walk around but elina is different, she always likes to rest her body on the floor or sofa with her legs spread out like this.

And that's her feeling sleeping and starting to fall asleep! And every time she yawns, you can see her ferocious teeth and big mouth! :p

We took a lot of polaroids and this is one of them with most of the cousins inside. The ones missing are Eleanor, Emmanuel, Elizabeth, Nicholas and Nathan.

Other than having dinner and family fun time, we also catch a midnight movie together.

VIRAL FACTOR starring Jay Chou and Nicholas Tse

Actually, the only reason why the movie is known as viral factor is because this story is about a group of people trying to create a virus and also the antidote so as to earn lots of money.

The entire movie was filled with violent scenes and nothing much about viral stuff.
Although i was really tired half way through the movie that i actually fell asleep, i still understand the entire story.
There was a touching scene at the end of the movie which make some of my cousins cry.

Before deciding if you want to catch it, maybe the trailer will further interest you.

The movie ended at 2am plus and i was really really exhausted.
Not to mention that my eyes were really dry due to the contact lens :/
And the worse part was i woke up at 8 plus this morning for work and i only had 5 hours of sleep.
Nothing can describe how exhausted i was. Seriously.

A long holiday with lots of fun, joy and laughter and also angbaos from my aunties!

Its okay even if i dont get a huge amount cuz its the thought and blessings given that counts :)

At least they give me what i really call as a family which is something that nothing can be replaced.

To some people, my post title may sound familiar. Of course it is familiar because it is none other than the pet phrase of a mother in the movie - WE NOT NAUGHTY

Since i was young, i kinda enjoy Jack Neo's films cuz they are mostly super duper funny and also inspiring.

One of the best that i really really like is I NOT STUPID both season 1 and 2!

A movie that is funny with a touching story behind everything(:

I know you guys must be wondering why i can catch it before 19TH JANUARY right?

Well...they are having sneak previews before the actual opening date and i was lucky to get it!

Overall, i find this movie really funny cuz i dont know how much and how hard i laughed :p

But the story plot is a bit unorganized, its like it does not flow as well.

Anyway, for people who really like funny movies, this one is really for you! ^^

After movie session, i head on to meet my maternal family for dinner. I was supposed to be there early to help out with the baking of cookies and pineapple tarts! As you know, CNY is round the corner hence my aunty is really busy with all the orders!

She is really good at baking and one of the thing that i really like is her pineapple tarts! (:

Thinking of it makes me hungry :/

I was so lucky to get an extra can of pineapple tarts so that i can eat during working hours and of course share around with my colleagues.

Besides the baking crash course, we also had a mini birthday celebration for one of my cousins.

She's primary five which means 11 this year! (:

Super Belated Birthday Treat...

As you all know, my birthday was like way back in November and i have already celebrated with my friends if you have read my post about my birthday celebration.

Despite the fact that my birthday has passed for 1 month plus, i still got a wonderful treat for brunch with bella(:

I was like "FINALLY! WE CAN MEET! ^^" after sooooooo long!

Due to time constraint, we decided to meet at tampines 1 and we settled ourselves at Lenas.

I know this is not my first time there, in fact, its my third time! But i think i will never have the chance to eat all their food in their menu cuz there is just too much!

HERE COMES THE FOOD!!

and we really ordered a lot for 2 people...

Brushchetta (i dont know how to spell. whatever~)

anyway, it was really a generous serving as compared to swensens or other western food places where they only have few dices of tomato on a small piece of garlic bread :/

And it's fresh too! Even somebody who do not like tomatoes (pointing to myself) loves this! So how can you resist?

Cheese baked mussels.
Actually i didnt get to taste this cuz it was like a mistaken order.

Well...bella actually thought that this dish has soup and so she ordered it and plus she double checked with the waitress and she said yes.

Somehow or rather, there was no soup when it was served to us.

End up, bella told the waitress the entire misunderstanding and we changed it to something else.

Which explains why i only got to take a picture of it but not the taste :/

My main course: grilled dory with mushroom sauce! I love grilled fish! And the sides were really generous too ^^

$15.50, worth it or what? ;)

TADA~ this was the one that replaced the baked mussels. Vongole soup! I wont recommend this because its expensive and the taste is pretty normal. $12 + for just this, with nothing else.
Rice or salad are serve with additional charge.
Even so, i think rice does not go well with this. I mean when you think of vongole, you think of spaghetti right?

This is fantastic! But i accidentally touch the hot plate which was definitely not a good experience -.-

The brownie was quite nice. To me, as long as the brownie is not dry, i think its good.

And of course the fried banana is a plus point to this! Of course, only for those who like bananas :p

While waiting for the food, we also took some pictures together which unfortunately is not with me yet.

I guess i have to update this further once i got hold of them!

p.s. Somehow i feel as if i'm some food blogger or what, almost every post is about food. Maybe i will be known one day. Who knows?

Thai Porn Stars

Please dont ask me why i have such a title for the post because i really cannot find a better name than this.

Maybe some of your know where i went just by reading the title...

That's right! Its none other PORN'S thai restaurant at Liang Street (Bugis) and it is owned by a mediacorp artiste Pornsak.

This is my first time there but definitely not the first time eating thai food.

It was really crowded when we arrived partly because it was a friday night. Moreover, the place was rather small so they cant take many customers at one time.

The menu was all in thai but they provide english subtitles so that we know what we are ordering.

I personally think that some of the food are overpriced.

Examples like the thai prawn cake cost $8.90 for 3 pieces :o

End up, we decided to order kangkong, tom yam soup, 3 plates of plain rice, drinks and dessert.

The iced tea at PORN'S is a must try! Its really awesome and im sure tea lovers will definitely love it(:

I also tried their roselle lime which is the red colour drink you see above.

It taste like sour ribena. Actually, i could only taste the lime most of the time.

Mango Sticky Rice

The sticky rice is served hot with coconut milk as toppings while the mango slices are served cold.

So when you eat them together, it taste just right.

This is also another must try and for people who dont really like very sweet desserts, this is alright.

Total cost of our meal for 3 people: $49.90

I think its alright, at least we feel full(:

Other than dinner, sihui and me was also planning to get Metta's birthday present cuz the following day is her birthday!

we went to bugis street to find the bag that she want. It was a little challenging for us to hint her cuz we are also afraid to spoil the surprise.

I also bought a new bag for myself, a smaller one which i would need it.

okay okay, maybe its like a want, but i really dont have a lot of bags la :p

Retarded Faces! HAHAHA! :D

After a night of shopping and dinner, its time for us to head home.

Three more weeks to the end of SIP, i'm feeling happy but at the same time very uneasy.

Probably because i dont know how i want my life to continue from here...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 - A Flashback of 2011

It's been a year and time really flies...

There were a lot of things that happened in 2011 which i really reflected on them...

some of them are rather painful and some of them are of course very memorable and beautiful(:

From Januuary to March 2011, i was still struggling for my semester 2.2, i will never ever forget how tough it was.

Lots of assignments, tests and projects piling up and their deadlines were all so close to each other.

Nevertheless, i managed to survived through scoring 3.3 which i was pretty satisfied.

Other than school, i also met up with my secondary school hard candies! After so long and although we were rather busy, we still meet up together. Those memories in secondary school are like the best in our lives.

and of course not forgetting my other close friends...

I remember that it was a fun day at town and we took lots of silly pictures.

April 2011, during the semester break, i was spending lots of time working at newyork newyork and also going out with my friends over there. Although it has been really tiring for me, the most fulfilling moment is of course the money and the accompany from the people there(:

I also had a bbq party at pasir ris park with A9L3.

other than all the outings and gatherings, i also remember that i was totally crazy over one of the channel U show known as secret garden. It is a show about psychological diseases which really interests me. I had to catch it every week and even if i miss it, i will catch it on xinmsn. Sometimes, i even re-watch it over and over again.

May 2011, i had my one and only NAPFA test in polytechnic and i swear it almost killed me!

i've never exercised ever since i graduated from secondary school and i used to think that getting silver for NAPFA is easy peasy...

I remember how my legs and knees are swelling and they really hurt so much when i sit down or do whatever actions that are pulling my muscle :/

After all the perspiration and pain, i still didnt pass all because of 2.4km run! I always suck at that!

Luckily, NAPFA test is not important for girls. All we have to do is to participate! ^^

May was a pretty boring month for me cuz i was also in the midst of preparing my term test.

June 2011, i was having my semester 3.1 term break for 2 weeks. To celebrate after exams, we had a bbq party at stanwin's house. I really love these kind of gatherings with my classmates cuz they are really awesome people which makes a difference in my polytechnic life(:

Other than fun, i was also selected to go for an interview for SIP in MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme)

It was definitely an honour for me because being able to work in an MNC will be a really good experience. However, sadly, i was not chosen for to work there. Instead, ms chua put me in at baxter which is where im working now.

Also, i have a couple of outings with my secondary school friends.

July 2011, we celebrated alvis and julianah's birthday. For alvis, we celebrated in fish & co and we made him stand up on a chair wearing labcoat and the stethoscope we bought him as a gift.

It was pretty awkward for him but we purposely did that to sabotage him :p

As for julianah's birthday, we gave a surprise at tampines mall. Zunairah also smashed cake in her face which was like a "birthday bash" for her.

other than birthday celebrations, i also met up with george and kelvin after so long...

August 2011, i was busy studying for 3.1 semestral exams. I swear it was like really torturing for me especially BUO.

And after exams, we were super relieved cuz it's the FINAL EXAMS for us. Literally final cuz there will not be any more papers! ^^

I also celebrated kelvin's birthday with delton, fred and sihui.

I know you must be asking why no group photo. Apparently, we forgot to take any :/

So end up sihui and me camwhore a lot with just the two of us.

September 2011, this was the period where i also struggled the most because it was the beginning of my internship. Those mixed feelings i have for major project are those that i will never forget as well.

But before the start of internship, i had 2 weeks of break to play and so we had a PRE-SIP chalet at changi.

and this was also the time where many of us took lots of alcohol and got a bit high after that.

I did drank quite a number of cups too but because i controlled myself, i didnt get drunk!

Not like alvis who was totally high and started smiling to himself. LOL!

I also started to spend more time with my maternal relatives, so i started to visit my grandpa house every week. I've kinda lost in touch with them ever since i started polytechnic.

I also unofficially left my work place at newyork newyork! (like finally)

And i did something that i think its the most courageous thing i have ever done in my life. But im not gonna say what it is cuz that's for me to know and you to find out ;)

From October to November 2011, other than focusing on my major project and work at baxter, i also met up often with my classmates. However, because we were busy with our own things, it was not easy to arrange a dinner together. I also had a couple of outings with my aunties and uncles where we went to those restaurant for awesome food.

November was also my birthday! This was the first time and last time im celebrating in baxter.

I was really happy that my newyork newyork friends, internship friends and classmates celebrated for me.

I had a lot of awesome gifts too!

December 2011, Christmas season! I celebrated this with my family and i had a lot of awesome gifts too.

One good thing about having birthday in November is that you get 2 different gifts for 2 occasions.

it seems like i had a wonderful year. However, other than beautiful memories, there were of course things that i regretted. To those people who i may have hurt unknowingly, i apologised for whatever i did or said.

I do hope 2012 will be a better year for me and also to all my friends out there!

Feasting In Progress...

Today is the day we all have been looking for. Perhaps, its tomorrow for some people but everywhere is filled with christmas season!

Since a few weeks ago, my aunties were planning a party for christmas. Actually, we do it every year and everybody gets wonderful christmas gifts! (:

Before the party, my day begins with a wonderful movie that i always wanted to watch since its on theatres and its none other than ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 3!

I've watched alvin and the chipmunks 2 and i really love it especially their songs! i catch the first one on tv.

Anyway, alvin and the chipmunks 3 was slightly different than the first two because the story is not about how they are famous for singing. This time round, the story begins on a cruise and if you guys have watched the trailer, you will know what i meant.

I totally give a rating of 4 out of 5 stars, even though its not super funny, its still as awesome cuz i like the plot(:

I guess i really like Simon, he's like the one that surprises me in the movie this time. Alvin also did surprise me. Theodore is as cute as ever! and of course, the chipettes (Britney, Jeanette and Eleanor)!

For those who have not catch it, do go and catch it before it goes off! They are really cuteeeee!

Aftermath, we head down to grandpa's house for the party. As the movie ended way before time, we were like the first to arrive. Good thing for the popcorns we ate just now, so we didnt felt very hungry,
I swear i was so looking forward to the food ever since we discussed the menu.
There's gonna be like sushi, sashimi, lasagne, roasted beef, salad, chicken wings, brushchetta and desserts!
desserts is definitely yum yum(:
chocolate cheesecake, logcake and special drinks such as mojito (a cocktail which can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
Just one word for the food: WOW!

We also have our gift exchange session but it ended up more like a gift ceremony. And HERE ARE THE PICTURES! Please be ready for a long post full of pictures. I'm just gonna let the pictures tell the story cuz there are really too much...

let me start off with the food:

Please do not think this is a normal raisin bread from those bread shop okay? This isnt cheap, i swear! It's the most expensive bread i've ever seen. It's a christmas bread known as panattone. You can get it from cold storage.

The taste of it its pretty normal to me, as in its softer la but it does not really worth the price.

Crispy greens! Although i didnt try that but you guys should know how it taste like...

and of course what is a salad without it's dressing? Like sour taste?

Beef lasagne! Super yums! And its home-made(:

My cousin, Nic was preparing to make a cocktail known as mojito (pronounced as mo-hee-toe).

You can make it in both alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

Some limes and peppermint leaves to spice up the taste...
Basically, you just add sugar and mint leaves into a shaker.
Mash them up so that the mint taste will come out.
Add ice and a special kind of soda water.
If you want alcoholic, you can add rum or dessert wine.
If not, maybe try with other flavourings or just the lime.
Shake a while and there you have it!

This year's log cake is Tiramisu log cake from gastronomia @ paragon orchard!
It looks pretty good right?
But the overall taste was only not bad. It's actually not quite what we expected cuz we didnt know it would be so spongy :/
As you know, Tiramisu supposed to taste more creamy.

Bailey's Vanilla Shake

What you need:
Vanilla ice cream, milk (optional), lots of ice, bailey
Just pour everything in and blend well.

In case you are wondering what is bailey, it is actually a coffee wine. Not very strong but dont take too much cuz you never know how much effect it may caused.

You can add milk too if you want, this is to give an extra milky texture to the shake. But dont add too much!

Taste test time! For the kids (below 18), we gave them a non-alcoholic bailey vanilla shake which is actually just vanilla shake -.-
I mean if you take away bailey from bailey vanilla shake, of course you get vanilla shake right? Use some common sense la :p

The taste was not bad, just a bit too bland especially with the milk. But for the first time, it's really good already. I mean how many people knows how to make this?

The rest of the food you see on the table are rather gone cuz we were kinda too hungry to take photos of it before eating. So they are in our stomach right before the camera women could take any pictures of them :p

Japanese are Really Cool People

Usually, i always blog on Sundays or Mondays if i'm really busy. Today was different cuz i went to town yesterday night. It was like an unexpected dinner for me.

Anyway, i met up with my aunties for dinner mainly because one of my cousin scored really well for her exams. She scored a GPA of 4.0 man! That's like freaking awesome! 0.0

I will never ever get this kind of grade :/

oh well...

so where was i? Yes, we went to ion orchard. And it's super crowded as usual. Probably because of Christmas and people are busy doing last minute shopping and stuff.

As we were REALLY HUNGRY, we wanted to head on to wheelock place for NYDC cuz it was really damn crowded at all food places around that time...

but then, we stopped by this Japanese restaurant known as SHO TEPPAN

The concept is pretty cool i would say, i mean you get to cook your own food.

The best thing is they have one server for a round of table, so they are very attentive to their customer's needs. So basically that was how we are seated *points below*

we are all sitting on one row facing the rest of the people. Its like a big square boundary with the hole in the middle where the server will stand. Notice everybody's seat have a electric stove?

That's for us to cook. I think the good thing about this concept is customer will get piping hot food into their mouths. I got this feeling as if we are having cooking classes where the teacher will stand in the middle and we are the students :p

NOMNOMS! This was what i ordered: Salmon Nabe (shabu shabu soup)

eh...i didnt scold bad word okay? The menu really wrote nabe which means hotpot in Japanese. For your information, Japanese paper hotpot is pronounced as Kaminabe, doesnt it sound more like knnb?

Anyway, they served us a big pot of soup with lots of veggies with one big shiitake mushroom and some enoki mushroom. Overall, it looks rather pathetic.

So this was my whole set. There's rice, salad, raw salmon and iced green tea.

Total: $14.90 + $1.00 ++

Seriously, not worthy at all because i find it a little overpriced.

i mean they give me 5 pieces of salmon and the rest are veggies? Good thing the soup is nice.

Speaking of the soup, you can choose either shabu shabu (salty) or sukiyaki (sweet).

i would definitely prefer the salty soup of course!

The salmon is quite fresh and the soup is pretty good, just that after drinking, i feel thirsty ><

After dinner, we head on for last minute shopping.

I also got a christmas gift from my aunty which is a pair of havaianas flip flops since my one from cotton already CMI :/

I really love the turquoise colour which gives an extra cool look even though i chose the simplest in the store.

After 10pm plus, we went back home feeling super sleepy. KO straight away Zzz

Christmas season brings warmth to everyone's heart.

Advanced Christmas Celebration with PHS

since last month, we were planning a xmas celebration on this day for the first time in the 3 years of our polytechnic life.

the organizers were mainly elicia and alvis. They really put in a lot of effort to make the day awesome! ^^

we ordered lots of food and they were all mainly from cold storage.

every year, during the christmas season, cold storage always have a wide selection of food such as turkey, ham, lasagne, logcakes and many more. Simply just pre-order from them and collect at any outlet nearest to your house.

of course, it isnt cheap. For a total of less than 20 people, we spent $300 plus on the food and this excludes the pizzas and the drinks.

the party was held in stanwin's condo, he booked the function room where we could have the world to ourselves(:

there was also a huge TV screen in the function room for us to watch any TV programmes or plug in your laptop for any activities.

Sadly, there is no wireless network so we are not able to get any music or movies online :/

The food was awesome except for the turkey. I was a little disappointed with the turkey cuz it's pretty hard.

I love their roast chicken, sushi, sausages and logcake! Yummy tummy(:

Aftermath, we sat around in a BIG CIRCLE for games and the forfeit was none other than WASABI! :o

the wasabi was super powerful that we can have awful reactions in 5 secs!

seriously, wasabi with turkey is a torture :(

We literally spent hours there until the security guard has to shoo us away.

p.s. actually they are just dessert wine except for one which is white wine sponsored by stanwin.

dessert wine has an alcohol content of 6 to 8% while white wine is a bit stronger, 14 to 18%

although i drank at least one cup each, i didnt feel tipsy(:

the trick is to drink slowly and eat before you take any alcohol!

what can be better than spending a nice Saturday afternoon with your loved ones?

friendship that goes for years always continues and never ends...

this is what i like about long lasting friendship. No matter how far we are separated physically, our hearts still come together as one(:

this time round, due to some time constraint, we decided to meet up at tampines for a short lunch. Supposedly short lunch la, but it ended up quite long :p

anyway, we settled ourselves at LENAS in T1 which has just open not long ago. It occupies the space that used to be teadot.

i have been to Lenas before in Nex Serangoon. Honestly speaking, i really love that place alot! Not only they serve great food, their price are reasonable. It's around Swensens kind of pricing, but of course their standard is so much better!

On top of that, their service is great! (referring to the one in Nex, the rest of the outlets, im not sure)

so where can you get any other better place than this? ;)

Upon settling down, we started chit chatting like really long and we almost forgot to place our order.

i think the service crew are all looking at us? heh :p

I know it looks BIG partly because of my enlargement of the photo, but its really BIG la with all the pictures of all the food they serve. They have a separate menu for desserts! Speaking of desserts, their dessert is a MUST TRY! no kidding(:

They are under the MOF-Ministry Of Food company so you should have guessed that they serve wonderful desserts! Perfect for sweet tooth!

the concept in T1 is a bit poor mainly because its in the middle of no where. I mean you can see people walking around looking at you eating and doing all sorts of stuff. Its kinda no privacy so the atmosphere is not really nice la :/

TIME FOR THE FOOD! Nom Noms ^^

soft shell crab baked rice-chef recommended.

I personally chose the Arrabiata which is also known as spicy tomato based.

Its pretty good, i really like the soft shell crab and the Arrabiata sauce.

the thing that they can improve on is that the baked rice is kinda dry, i think it will be better if the rice is more moist(:

Salsa grilled Chicken. This is not a spicy dish, i mean even though the name is salsa. They have their own unique salsa sauce that is green in colour and its really special. Taste good too!

Salsa grilled dory fish. Its pretty similar to the chicken just that this is fish instead.

Cheddar Cheese baked Salmon. The salmon is awesome! For people who love salmon, its really worth a try. But the sad thing is the portion is really small. I think the baked potato is bigger than the fish lor!

You can choose your own sides for the main course, either one or two. Alternatively, you can choose not to have any sides, just the main. Price will vary accordingly, of course! ;)

DESSERTS! my favourite part of any meal! ^^

Breaded Banana with Vanilla soft serve ice cream.

Their banana is really nice and it goes well with chocolate sauce and soft serve(:

Pancakes with Banana and Chocolate icecream.

Their pancakes are pretty normal. Nothing fancy, I only like their ice cream. We were a little disappointed that the syrup they gave us was not maple syrup :/

They have other special desserts such as Macha (green tea) icecream and pizza desserts. Looks pretty cool but i never try it before.

See what i meant about the open concept? We can see all the other retail outlets from inside and of course all the people shopping around -.-

i always love Ying Xuan's hair since secondary school! Its always so soft, so smooth and manageable(:

This is how my nails look after applying. I'm seriously very not used to it cuz the last time i applied was ages ago. But i would say the glittery effect is pretty nice(:

Half way through the nail polishing, we spotted some really cute Christmas mascots! They were all dress up to say "Merry Christmas" to everybody in T1(:

MAKE UP SESSION! Rimes bought her entire make up set which looks like a make up palette. There are tons of shades and colours to mix and match with. Personally, i'm really bad at make up so this kind of palette is a waste for me :/

After this, i had to leave and the rest head on with the plan. Kinda disappointed but i know we will meet up again, someday, sometime(:

Friends like them are people who always stand by you no matter what happens. To me, they are like more than just friends. Family, perhaps cuz they give me a feel of love and blessed.

A Normal Being with a Normal Weekend...

hey! Christmas season is round the corner and i bet you guys are planning lots of activities such as gifts exchange, parties or gatherings.

and i realised that Christmas kinda perks up everybody's mood for December! ^^

i've been hearing lots of things like "i cant wait for December!" or "im looking forward to December!" all these kind of stuff.

of course im like one of your too! im also excited for Christmas(:

the only activities i have for this year is a christmas party with school friends and the usual family gathering!

i pretty much like to plan for these activities and decide on the place, the food which is the most important thing and perhaps the games too! heh :p

anyway, time for me to talk more about my weekends.

i was expecting a very good dinner for friday cuz the usual plan was to meet up with the L2 for dinner and we can also discuss for the christmas party.

BUT but but...due to some unforseen circumstances, the L2 didnt turn up so its back to just L3. (somehow, i really dislike unforseen circumstances cuz they totally can spoil somebody's mood)

anyway, we planned to visit the new shopping mall-changi city point which is located directly beside expo mrt station.

it was rather disappointing probably cuz they are not yet fully open so we only manage to explore abit.

there wasnt much stores to shop around cuz they have more food outlets :/

despite the fact that there were more food places, we couldnt settle down anywhere cuz they were all non-halal? all except Mcdonalds!

since there wasnt any nice food places, we head on to changi airport and after a long walk and decision, we FINALLY settle ourselves at pizza hut.

pizza hut came out with a couple of festive menu which looks pretty interesting which is the one that i ordered. *points below*

Orange Zesty Duck Leg.

personally, i dont quite like it mainly because of the orangey taste. i wasnt expecting the orange taste to be that strong and i thought maybe it would go well with duck meat.

but i was pretty disappointed. not only the zesty sauce doesnt go well with the duck meat and mash potato, the portion was not satisfying too.

this comes with a set which includes a soft drink and a soup of the day. Total cost: $15.50 ++

the price seems reasonable but with this portion, i totally change my mind :/

perhaps for people who like to try something new or people who like orange taste should really give it a try!

aftermath, we went to a corner at the viewing gallery for a nice catch up session and end up it turns out to be a life teaching lesson of "how to get the girl you want" by stanwin low! LOL!

we were kinda discussing about this topic which was pretty random and somehow we could add in a little bit of science theory into this topic.

this totally goes to show that we are truly APPLIED SCIENCE STUDENTS! :p

moving on to saturday~

i was pretty reluctant for saturday to come cuz i didnt really have plans.

i met up with rachel for awhile and its really awhile (1 and a half hours) cuz she wanted to pass me my birthday present!

TADA~ dont look anywhere, just look at the tumbler which she got it from starbucks. it was a great and handy gift since my poor foldable water bottle is dying on me! :( and the best part is a tumbler can hold very hot and very cold drinks! whoo hoo~ ^^

i really love this tumbler and to prove it, im gonna start using it from tomorrow onwards.

after which, i head on to my grandpa's house at AMK for the usual dinner thing.

the first thing elina did when she arrived was to lick me. i dont really like dog lick me and i dont know why :/

nevertheless, i still love to touch her fur and pat her cuz she's a really active and cute dog!

and i realised her fur is getting super long and its covering her eyes 0.0

wonder if she can see clearly...

it was so difficult to get a snap shot of her cuz as you know, dogs dont just listen to your commands. My cousin has to trick her with food to get her attention. speaking of food, elina ireally loves food! all kinds of food. the minute she sees something yummy, she will have the "give me! its mine!" kind of look and she will start jumping up to get it.

the best thing that elina likes to do is to laze around comfortably at a cosy spot. actually, she lies at any spot. on the floor, on the sofa, on anybody's lap. she simply loves to 赖着你(:

she's a really smart dog and a very friendly one who treats almost anybody as her friend. her friendly gesture is of course none other than licking you.

its been a long time since i went shopping :/

mainly because i do not have the money to spend, i even missed the GSS this year which was very sad cuz they always have fantastic promotions and discounts during this period.

oh well...sometimes, the time is just not right for me!

yesterday, i had the chance to go shopping with my aunties and uncles in town.

i really didnt thought of getting anything cuz im seriously damn broke :(

end of the month leh...what to expect? i think i only left like less than $10 bucks!

fortunately, my pay comes in today which makes me feel a lot better(:

anyway, before shopping, we went to garuda padang at orchard central for lunch. it is a Indonesian restaurant selling food like rendang, curry and other indonesian food.

basically, the reason why we went there is because my cousin-shan shan bought a voucher from goupon which can give us discount when dining in there and its also a chance to try new food, so why not? (:

a table heap of food! these all their small dishes and its not cheap okay? they charge by per portion, so if let say you get 3 portions, the cost will be x3 :o let me just introduce some of the so called popular food.

ayam rendang- quite nice. although it looks abit tough on the outside, it actually taste pretty moist inside not like those dry meat from fast food or other places.

beef rendang- their beef is tender! and they still have a little tendon which is usually not given by other food places from what my aunty says

chilli prawns- i like their prawns cuz it taste too old, pretty fresh!

bagedil( i dont know how to spell it)- the bagedil here is not cheap, it cost $1.50 per piece cuz they added meat and other ingredients inside and not just potato.

curry veg- normal to me. nothing special.

overall, i would say their food is pretty nice but its too over priced. some of the food can be found at other restaurants at a cheaper price and they dont taste bad too.

just look at the amount we ordered and it already cost $100 ++

for people who really like indonesian food, this place is worth a try(:

after main course, we decided to visit H&M while waiting for the food to digest.

honestly speaking, this is the first time i step inside even though it has already open for quite some time.

my first impression when i step in was that its really big, something like the forever 21 @ 313 somerset.

its also rather spacious which allows people to browse clothes at a convenient pace(:

we looked around and realised that its the winter season now and most of their clothes are in the winter fashion which is kinda not applicable for me since im staying in singapore for now.

but some of them still look nice and trendy!

after browsing for an hour or so, we head on for desserts! and since my birthday is on monday, i get the privilege to choose a cake ^^

after some decision, we decided to settle ourselves at oriole cafe.

i heard of oriole cafe from xiaxue's guide to life, it seems like a cosy area for chilling and drinking some coffee or tea(:

the outlet in 313 somerset was very busy and crowded, so the quiet feel isnt there. im not too sure for the other outlets, maybe its quieter there?

anyway, each of us ordered a drink and some desserts to share around.

the dessert shown above is called vanilla and pear. its a vanilla milk pudding with poached pear.

the pudding is really nice cuz the texture is smooth and soft just like tofu, i can also taste wine in the poached pear which i find it interesting too(:

the name of this cheesecake is very long! chocolate marble orange cheesecake. i know it sounds abit messy like why would they have 3 flavours in a cheesecake? i guess cheese cake lovers will really like this cuz the texture is just so yummy! i love it too! the orange taste isnt that strong too so for people who dont really like the orangey taste, this is fine(:

chocolate pecan cupcake- it looks so cute right? they decorate it with candy canes according to the xmas season. this is quite nice too but sadly, i cant taste much of the pecans. maybe its just me :/

my mini birthday cake-double fudge chocolate cake. this is seriously damn RICH! im not kidding, i cant even finish one whole piece by myself. its really good cuz its moist inside and not like those cheapo kind of chocolate cake from mad jack where it taste super dry that you cant even take a second mouth :/

im not being bias or whatever cuz the one in mad jack seriously cant even compare with oriole...

my drink-iced mint mocha. i know what your going to say! everytime mint, not sian meh? but i really like peppermint flavour, its like the most refreshing flavour! besides, i cant think of anything else to drink.

this is a little disappointing cuz the mint taste isnt very strong but i still can taste it. i also find it a bit bitter cuz i personally cant take much bitterness. however, its still a nice drink cuz the coffee is good(:

cafe machiato-it is serve in a mini cup as small as an expresso cup but probably slightly bigger. for people who dislike coffee, please dont take this cuz you are going to regret it.

but for coffee lovers, your will find it smooth and the coffee taste is simply heavenly(:

machiato is actually expresso with a touch of milk foam which makes it extra smooth. since its expresso, you can roughly know how bitter it taste :/

the other machiato sold in other cafe taste sweet mainly because its caramel machiato, the caramel kinda hides the bitterness.

actually, my aunty asked for a candle so that i blow, but sadly, they forgot about it, by the time they remember, my cake is already in my tummy! -.-
of so many restaurants, i still prefer fish and co when it comes to birthday celebrations cuz their service is the best!

aftermath, we head on to more shopping at ion orchard.

we stopped by a sports shop known as stadium. i forgot why did we even step inside but we end up buying a lot of stuff from there. my aunty spent like $200 +

and of course my lovely xmas gift is bought from there!

nice right? its pretty in pink! at first i hesitated in buying pink cuz i find it a little too loud, so i was thinking if i should get the navy blue instead. but then, navy blue looks abit dull and so i finally decided to get pink which is really awesome! im lovin' it(:

the rest of my cousins also got a present each.

three of us got shoes while another got a pair of soccer gloves. everybody has something great in return!

19th Advanced Birthday Celebrations(:

i really feel that im blessed with super uber duper nice friends around me(:

this weekend was an awesome one for me cuz i had two surprises in two consecutive days! how lucky can i be? i wasnt even expecting any birthday celebrations this week since my birthday is only next week but they really surprised me and all!

im so touched by all the efforts they put in ^^

let me start off with my friday night...

i met up with sihui for dinner, its kinda like a make up dinner for last saturday cuz the usual plan was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

but today was abit hurry cuz we only have a little bit of time for each other :/

nevertheless, we manage to find a place to catch up *points below*

the place we went to was HONG GUO restaurant. i cant really remember if this is the correct name cuz i didnt have a good impression of it...anyway, its like a chinese restaurant selling noodles and rice.

i ordered lemon margarita which cost like $3.80

it taste like lime light lemon from NYNY so i like it pretty much(:

sihui ordered a dessert which cost $4.80

it was totally not worth it! its small and so disappointing :/

this is the noodle dish that i ordered-hot and sour wanton noodle.

i dislike this as well. firstly because its very oily, you see the layer of oil floating on top of the soup? omg! 0.0

secondly, they cheated me, it didnt taste sour at all. i was expecting like 酸辣汤 that kind of soup which was totally appetizing and not this kind where i only taste the spicyness.

we were both disappointed with the place and im sure we will not come back here again.

by the way, sihui rebonded her hair again and i really miss her with long straight hair. that time she went to perm it which makes her hair pretty frizzy but now its nice and straight again! ^^

i feel really tempted to rebond again too...but i shall wait till december.

next, we head on to frolick to try their chocolate flavour. overall, i would say it taste really good cuz the chocolate is very chocolately. but sadly, i dont taste any yoghurt cuz there was no sour taste, only sweetness which kinda taste like ice cream except that its lower in fat. its a smarter choice if you want to eat desserts :p

after yoghurt, sihui had to go back to parkway to celebrate uncle leslie's birthday, i didnt know all along she was putting up a show in front of me in order to give me a surprise. she actually tricked me in going to parkway. i seriously thought that we are only celebrating uncle leslie's birthday but then it turn out to be that i was also one of the birthday person! i was totally surprised :o

sandra: can the birthday guy and girl please stand up!

me: who's the birthday girl?

kelvin: you la!

me: me?! 0.0 huh? i thought your celebrating uncle leslie's birthday only?

sihui: SURPRISE!

me: *shock face*

they were so sweet right? and that's how my first 19th birthday celebration started...

did i mention that i got lots of awesome gifts from them too? a hand-made card, hand-made clay smurfs, a notepad and a jokey smurf soft toy! ^^V

i really really really love this alot alot! its so cute! altough jokey smurf is not my favourite smurf but its still so cute to resist!

they actually told me that they wanted to get the clumsy smurf cuz it resembles me, the blur charmaine -.-

me: do i get a present from jokey everyday?

kelvin: haha! hmm...you can try lor.

these are the hand-made clay smurfs. i know it really doesnt look very decent but its the thought that counts right? i mean for them to make this isnt easy at all...

at least they manage to shaped it until 80% alike, its really a good job done already(:
kelvin: this are mutated smurfs! it only looks like the real smurfs from the back view, so the maximum angle you can look at its the side view.

19NOV11-ST GAMES @ THE CATHAY

i swear this place is a must go for people who are in for active games!

it is not just an ordinary place for electronic games but a place where its good for moving your body!

there were a total of nine of us: elicia, shu hua, aun tyin, shakita, alvis, fred, danny, hariz and me(:

we all meet up to try out the games at ST GAMES!

we booked a huge room with 2 big tv screens, the cool thing is they can sense our body movements and actions. all we have to do is to move our arms and legs and they can detect!

the game we both chosed was DANCE CENTRAL!

and its really a good game for exercising!

you will see...

as me and shakita was beginning to dance, suddenly they took out a birthday cake and started singing bithday song! this was another birthday surprise for me and also shakita who's birthday was one day before mine(:

after cutting the cake, it was play time! you should have seen how the guys danced! in my whole three years of polytechnic life with them, i have never seen them so outgoing before! dancing so much :D

the best male dancer goes to DANNY CHUA! he really dance super duper well la...even for those lady like actions :o he doesnt even care if he look ku-niang or not, he just dance!

never seen him so outgoing before! hahaha!

hariz, fred and danny danced pretty well too but i couldnt stop laughing when they dance cuz they look super cute! :p

the best female dancer goes to SHU HUA and SHAKITA! the both of them were very good at dancing to the beat ^^

after a whole 2 hours of dancing, i feel really exhausted! :/

dancing is really a good form of exercise!

we move on to frolick and the thing was i just had it the day before and now im eating it again...

original yoghurt with oreo toppings is always the best! i love oreo!

we went to pastamania for dinner cuz it was rather crowded everywhere and since we had such a big group, finding a table isnt easy :/

we settled ourselves down and ordered food!

as usual, you know what i will order-spicy chicken!

when we had to pay for our meal, elicia suggested that everybody pay for shakita and me as a birthday dinner treat. aww! so sweet of them right? (: but then, hariz decided to pay for both of us! that's even sweeter la...i mean he paying for three people leh including himself!

aftermath, we find a place to sit down outside plaza singapura to play 终极密码 which is a game where people will be forfeited when they guess the number correctly!

and the forfeit was to eat the leftover birthday cake added with salt, pepper and chilli flakes...

the guys were really disgusting, they mixed and squeezed the cake such that it looks really gross to eat it! :/

i was also unlucky to get it too...but at least the taste wasnt that bad!

after we finish the cake, we went to daiso to grab some christmas decorations in preparation for our christmas gathering in december. the guys decided to get santa hats while the girls get reindeer handbands! i swear the reindeer hairband look really cute! as we were choosing the santa hats, we saw this with a santa moustache attached to it! look at how fred looked! super funny right? :D

after a long day of fun, joy and laughter, it was time to head home! feeling really really tired but it was a great great day!

im blessed with all the good friends around me...

A Boring Weekend...

I actually didnt want to blog anything cuz there isnt any events or nice things to post about...

but i was thinking if i dont blog for at least one a week, i think my blog looks dead and nobody will want to read it? :/

so i guess i should just roughly talk about how i spent my weekend(:

friday was like the awesomest as compared to yesterday and today. i meet up with stanwin, alvis and shuxian for dinner and had a small talk together.

went to ajisen ramen which i haven been eating for some time...i know for some reasons, some people dont really like aijisen ramen maybe because their noodle isnt very nice.

but i like their soup base, i think its pretty good(:

maybe different people just have different opinions la...

we had a small talk about some relationships stuff and at some point, i got abit agitated because of some of my strong points! heheh :p

felt abit bad cuz i didnt really mean that hard, just cant control myself...

so basically this was how my friday night passed.

saturday was pretty bad, actually it was supposed to be good but due to unforeseen circumstances, the plan is cacncelled :(

and i swear i was damn disappointed but there was nothing i can do, i mean it cant be help and it wasnt her fault.

so i totally slack at home for the entire day so much so that i felt like a pig! :/

today i decided to leave house earlier to woodlands since staying back at pasir ris is really boring...

on a happier note, i got my favourite peppermint mocha to cheer me up!

peppermint die hard fans, you must seriously get it again and again and again! ^^

its really awesomeeeeeeeee(:

lets just forget about the price okay? i know its not cheap :p

now im back at woodlands home thinking what should i do for the rest of the day...

i cant do my reflection too cuz i forgot to bring back my SIP logbook home :/

man...i think i had a really bad weekend! i hope next week will be so much better!

A Good Friend is Cheaper than Therapy

Yesterday was a bright and sunny day! What a perfect day to hunt for hidden places in Singapore.

Nowadays, people like to explore shopping malls only and it seems like a super common trend that we only go for food areas in town or some other neighbourhood places! so boring please! :/

as what rachel said, its good to find some quiet places in some ulu part of singapore, hang out with friends and have a nice lunch(:

The place that we were hunting that day was near Tanjong Pagar. I shant tell that much cuz i think its good to keep these places a secret? ;)

Go hunt them down if you are interested!

After a long walk, and when i say long walk, its really long cuz we were lost quite a few times throughout the journey to the place...

we asked many many people, and they give us similar directions but end up we still cant really find the place.

probably because the place is near some old shop houses in some small road.

anyway, we finally made it to Duxton Road which was the small road that i was talking about.

when we managed to get to the road, we were so happy but we still cannot find the place -.-

we walked up the street and managed to capture some photos on the way.

we also realised that there are many shops that were not open.

we also saw lots of bridal stores and they have a lot beautiful bridal gowns! *stares at those dresses*

i swear i must come back here to get bridal gowns and take wedding shots when im getting married! ^^

i know this dream is very very far but people need to dream right?

dont tell me your never dream before? ;)

Mandarin orange, Arancita rossa and pomelo

I really like the pomelo flavour but rimes and rachel prefer the rossa flavour(:

but of course the prettiest colour goes to rossa flavour.

the taste of the sparkling juice taste like fizzy drink but not so fizzy and it non-alcoholic too.

OLIVE VINE~ located at marina square and i dont even know it existed last time cuz its all the way at the back of marina square nearer to esplanade mrt station

the food is a must try! cuz its really value for money(:

the set meal are affordable. less than $15 for a main course + soup + drink + dessert

and i can assure you the $4 add on for the complete set meal is not like those other restaurants where they cheat you.

the soup, drink and dessert are super awesome! no kidding! $4 is super value ^^

check out the mushroom soup with my favourite croutons! yummy(:

and the soup is not those diluted and watery kind. its those creamy kind with mushroom taste.

check out the drink-iced lemon tea! its a huge mug of iced lemon tea! we were definitely surprised (:

and the taste of the iced lemon tea was pretty good too. again, it does not taste like those diluted no lemon taste kind of iced lemon tea!

main course! i highly recommend the grilled fish(: its nice with pasta or with garlic bread & potato salad(:

after a full meal, i had to leave for a family dinner at kovan's coffee shop.

too many good food in one day, i feel so blessed and bloated too!

Two Unexpected Night Outs!

it seems like a weekly routine that i will only blog on every sunday about friday nights...

No matter how much i want to blog more often, there is just nothing for me to talk about and i definitely dont want to bore my readers to sleep, so i have to blog only i have pictures together with it(:

currently, things has been going quite okay for me, at least i have tons of work waiting for me to complete everyday in baxter but the sad thing is its a continuous of work from the day before the day before and the day before :/

all i could wish now is that i can START ON MY MP SOON! i wish the supervisor in charge can sense my urgency of this project :/

oh well...enough of the boring topic about work...i shall move on to something lighter and happier ^^

281011-FISHBALL VS GOOSES

at first i thought that last friday night would be a boring one as i have totally no plans with my usual clique...

but then unexpectedly, me and felicia had a last minute plan of dinner at tampines and since she wanted to grab some gifts for her parents, it was a good time that day(:

we went to pastamania for a quick dinner and you can guess what i ordered!

i seriously wont eat anything else but that...

anyway, after dinner we head on for shopping! i have to agree the fact that im somebody good at giving suggestions even though the person may not heed it in the end.

felicia didnt know what to get for the parents, she only have a rough idea of what they need and like...

oh ya! before that, did i told you guys that i bought a new pumps from charles and keith? its awesomeeee! ^^

decided to pamper myself a little bit since pay is out and its been a long time since i get a proper pair of shoes...

pretty right? its also comfortable to wear except for the first time when i got blisters :(

it always happen when im wearing a new pair of shoes, oh well~

the best part was it was on promotion and i saved some money!

i would say its been very long since i got a pair of slightly more feminine kind of shoes...heheh:p

aftermath, we went to look around for some accessories for felicia's mum.

she only have an idea that her mum like pearls and antique kind of necklaces or bracelets...

as always, women's present are so much easier to get than men's, so within a short while we found a store that sells nice pearl earrings which suits her mum(:

and of course since its real pearl, it doesnt cost cheap...

moving on to her dad, she actually wanted a handphone pouch for her dad that can be hooked on the belt, you know those businessman kind? LOL!

it was super hard to find, so we gave up in the end and after a few discussions with me, she decided that belt was the best choice.

we were lucky to find one men's belt within her budget at either isetan or BHG, i seriously had no idea cuz this two places look so same to me -.-

its pretty cool! it can be wear in two different colours and the buckle and twist and turn 0.0

and speaking of the colour, there was this inside joke:

promoter: this belt can be wear in both colours

me: what two colours?

felicia: black and BLOWN (pronounced as brown with the "l" instead of "r")

me: *repeated what she say and laugh uncontrollably* :DDD

HAHAHAHA! if you dont get it, then just forget it...

the night ends with both of us having a great time!

291011-a blessing in disguise

you will know what i meant by "blessing in disguise" half way through my post...

its a usual saturday and usually where i will always go is my grandpa's house for a weekly gathering with all my cousins, aunties and uncles.

i went down yesterday and when i reached there, it turned out that nobody was going to turn up that day cuz the kids are having exams and one of my aunty is currently in Vietnam for a business trip :/

damn! and i went all the way down from pasir ris -____-

i felt like a dumbdumb!

the next thing i thought of is to ask if there is anybody free to join me for dinner and luckily, rachel and weilin was somewhere near(:

we decided to meet at tampines...

went to toastbox for dinner, actually im the only one eating it cuz they were not hungry.

this was my first time there despite the fact that i always go tampines one and i think this curry chicken set is pretty good! the price, to me its a little overprice but the curry was nice(:

i love the tau pok! you know when the tau pok absorbs the curry and then you put in in your mouth, oh my!

we managed to catch up a little on each other's well being and happenings...

so the "blessing in disguise" i mentioned earlier was that i thought i would be all alone that night but then i have two awesome friends with me whom i dont get to see often(:

half way through eating, rachel decided to explore my itouch photography apps and you know what's the first thing she tell weilin when she took my itouch?

weilin: really? you have boyfriend?

me: 0.0 noooo! its...

rachel: *cuts in* no, you just shut up and let me do the talking. see? char and joe.

me: *frowns* nooooo! its a girl, she's my friend!

i also found out that rachel told this to reine who is in australia and guess what? she actually believe it for days! -________________-

my reputation spoil already la! :(

anyway, she took a couple of photos and i edit it which 美图秀秀 and i had to teach her how to use cuz she doesnt understand the chinese words.

A Table Full of Indulgences...

After a friday night of food, here comes saturday with more food and greater food! ^^

HI-TEA BUFFET @ ZHOU'S KITCHEN

of course one good thing is i dont have to pay cuz when you are eating with your family and relatives, usually they pay(:

but i guess when im abit older with a stable job, soon its my turn to pay!

anyway, check out the amount of food we ordered! look like some 满汉全席 right? its actually a table heap of food! 0.0

char siew baos, sweet and sour pork, fried buns, carrot cake, horfun etc...

but we have 15 people, so soon after, its all swept away :p

after lunch, we decided to walk around square 2, the ladies decided to go window shopping...clothes and all!

the gentlemen decided to look at watches @ citychain(:

both nathan and nicholas wants to buy a new watch.

i guess watch is a must have accessory for guys, i mean without it, their wrist looks rather empty :/

i never wear a watch, only when i was young, after that i kinda dislike the feeling of having something on my wrist and i stop wearing it...

aftermath, we decided to chill at some place and since nathan is treating, of course we have to choose at a more special place *cheeky smile*

actually a few weeks ago, nathan promised to treat us when he got his pay working for F1...

but then week after week after week, the promise is still hanging in the air!

finally, this week! after waiting so long...we went to TCC ^^

everybody ordered a drink and guess what was the total bill? $82 +

its friday again! i always feel extra happy and a little excited for friday nights(:

even though the people im gonna hang out with for dinner is the same old people, we always have different topics, different places and different funny stories to share!

this is what i like about my clique! we study hard and play hard ^^

anyway, due to bharkha's suggestion of going swensens for dinner, we really went there despite the fact some of us are having a slightly tight budget...

we were lucky to get seats before the crowd comes in *phew*

as soon as we settled ourselves down, i told myself to start snapping pictures for my blog :p

A Friday Evening Like No Other...

last friday was slightly better than the previous fridays! probably cuz we had a bigger group eating dinner together(: alvis, bherks, danny, fred, hariz, ridzuan, shuxian and me ^^
its been a really long time since the eight of us hang out together, usually it's just the usual 5 or 6 of us...
we end up in the usual restaurant: hong kong streets cafe at dte(:
i wont say the food there is awesome but for the student price and unlimited coke, its the perfect dinner for students like us!
other than catching up, jokes and making fun of each other, we were also worried about each other's major project.
the good thing is everybody got their title and have send in to their LO but the sad thing alot of us have not started with our MP logbook :/
of course that includes me and im like super worried about it. oh well...im planning to start with the smaller sections tmr...
shuxian was doing better than us. her logbook is filled with 80 pages already 0.0
i guess that is one good thing about doing in house!
now i should worry about proposal first...my workplan/ time schedule is unknown!
i dont understand why cant they fork out a small amount of time for me despite all my reminders :(
i really really really hope all goes well for me so that i dont have to rush through the whole thing...god bless me! *cross all fingers*

Yay! today's friday which means can rest all i want tmr.....................NOT!

seriously, i dont feel as if today's friday cuz im not excited neither am i feeling happy :/

as a matter of fact, i feeling stress! cuz up till now, i havent recieved my MP tittle yet...you know how worrying can that be?

i dont understand why my supervisor has to be so busy that he has no time for me. i dont even get to see him like more than 2 times in a day? how to talk to him? :(

i was super bored at work today, luckily there was a 5S training in the morning which occupied 2 hours of my life which is pretty useful.

at least i understand better and probably it's gonna help in my MP(:

other than the 2 hours, i seriously didnt know what was i doing? i guess i was just wasting my life away doing absolutely nothing!

sorry for complaining so much but im really feeling stress and helpless right now :/

god, please help me, at least let me know things gonna get better. i would appreciate it very much...

and the sad thing is that there was no plans for today as well :(

now im just at home waiting for time to pass and then i shall head home (pasir ris)

JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN! ^^

finally after waiting for so long, i finally get to catch it with sihui before it ends...

its another end of the week, which means now im left with 17 weeks before SIP officially ends!

im seriously counting down every week cuz i really cant wait for this to end :/

its just draining so much of my energy and whats more, i dont feel happy there.

oh well...i believe in some stages of our life, we will face obstacles and these obstacles are given to allow us to learn so that we will grow up(:

anyway, before the movie, we went for dinner and since sihui was craving for tom yam soup, thai express was the choice! i've never been there before although im working under this company.
there was once one of my friend told me that he didnt want to try thai express because of their logo-an elephant which makes him have the impression that the meat there is tough and therefore the food isnt nice. LOL!

to me, maybe its because i didnt really fancy thai food, but after that night, i had a change of mind towards thai express.

i think their tom yam soup is worth trying but just that if its spicier, its even better! (:

mine- crayfish tom yam soup with glass noodle

the bad thing about this is that they dont cut the crayfish into half for you, all they did was to crack the shell and the rest is up to yourself.

and maybe your are thinking what the hell is glass noodle :p its actually tang hoon, the transparent noodle that is usually add in soups!

i give this dish a 3 out of 5 star

this is for sharing-chicken & tanghoon ball. this is really bad :/ the chicken ball is kinda tasteless and the soup has a very strong garlic taste. for those who dislike garlic, please dont order that!

although there were alot of people there, we didnt care much :p
after frolick, it was almost time for the movie but there was still some time left and we went to get some facial products!
my face is seriously getting worse :( i've been trying alot of different products but still, my face doesnt seem to get better :/
hopefully, the facial scrub i recently brought will help shoo away those annoying black and white heads(:
after which, it was MOVIE TIMEEEE~
the movie was awesome! its super hilarious :D 5 out of 5 stars!
after all these indulgences, my pocket was left with a big hole but it was really satisfying(:

i used to miss out a lot of family gatherings with my maternal cousins, aunties and uncles.

but since i've started SIP, im usually free during the weekends and its just the perfect chance to make up for all those times that i missed out(:

sometimes, i feel so awkward with my cousins partly because i never really talk to them but nevertheless, all these situations turn out better when i start to hang around with them...

after all, we are a family, nothings beats that right? ;)

on saturday, we meet up at one of my aunty's house for dinner.

guess what's the menu of the day?

HOME-MADE MEE SOTO

credits to my aunty's maid(:

dont think that the soup is cooked from a premix from those supermarkets...

its so not! she really cooked it from scratch!

and of course the taste was pretty good especially with the chilli and all the condiments ^^

even somebody like me who doesnt like eating yellow noodles actually gave it a shot!

after dinner, i was ultra full but there was still chilli clams and fried spring rolls!

oh my! i swear i ate alot :/

but thats not the end okay?

one of us went to chomp chomp to pack some take away back...

chicken wings, ice kachang, beancurd, rojak and satay beehoon!

i especially like the chicken wings! its simply the best ^^ im loving it...

and after all these food in my stomach, i almost couldnt move like a pig~

but it was satisfying...hee :p

i hope this kind of gathering will happen more often

after that, you put on safety boots , goggles and hair net.

lastly, you sanitize your hands.

its the PROPER GOWNING SOP for clean room!

just for the benefit for those who do not know what exactly a clean room is, im gonna explain.

its a room where the number of particles in the room/environment is counted such that it is at its minimal.

there are different classes of clean room depending on the number of particles present.

grade A is of course the most stringent one(:

so a clean room is required in a manufacturing plant mainly because for the safety of consumers.

i mean imagine you consume something that has bacteria or mould? you like it meh? :/

anyway, i had a good opportunity to explore the REAL production area today in baxter!

which is an ultra cool thing for me cuz the one in school is like crap...seriously!

i mean from what mr wallace say.

i had to gown up properly before entering and prior to entering even more stringent areas, a secondary gowning is required.

i swear the steps to wear the gown is damn troublesome -.-

first, i cant touch the outer layer of the gown, only the inner.

second, i cannot let the gown touch the ground.

when im wearing it on, i almost lost my balance :p

and i also realised the size i chose was the wrong one, size M is huge man...

i think i should take size S next time if there is a next time la ^^

we went in and i saw lots of HUMONGOUS tankers and bioreactors! and im not kidding about the word "humongous" cuz they are really taller than me. like two-storey high? maybe a little shorter but its still tall :o

there are alot of pipes, process controls!

and not forgetting the GIANT autoclave machine! its really huge that it requires the help of a trolley to push trays in!

i almost couldnt control my jaw, i mean it almost drop to the ground :p

i may sound kinda sua ku but its really cool what...i never see before mah!

i was also introduced to how they do SIP and CIP for the bioreactors.

oh oh! and i saw a wave bioreactor! they call it the single-unit bioreactor (SUB) here because this is a disposable bioreactor.

just like wave bioreactor, the media is held in a plastic bag that is sterile...

i think i saw lots of things that i dont think i will ever get to see again next time in the future! :o

it sure was a great great experience V^^V

also, there were a few new colleagues that are going to join the upstream department from today onwards.

they came back from baxter in america and they are here to help the team!

and guess what? one of them is actually my senior from TP pharmaceutical science! its like the world is so small(: he knows ms chua, mr chan kar meng, mr u and all those lecturers that have been teaching for very long!

its so hard to find another similar kind in the same place. i felt really thankful and nice to know somebody like this(: its like i can talk to him alot even though we just saw each other...

i really wonder since god gave me such a wonderful day today, will he give me a bad day tmr to balance things out? :/ i really hope not cuz im sure tmr's gonna be a better day! ^^

i think i have never felt so happy for a friday before...

but for today,i really felt a great relief of "THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY!"

cuz im so drained from work everyday and its so boring!

i rather be as busy as alvis and fred than to always sit in front of the computer reading SOPs, notes and doing excel sheets :/

i know i shouldnt be complaining since i chose this myself but i wasnt expecting all these...

maybe i did expected but i didnt know it would be as bad as like this :/

oh well~guess i have to do sai kang jobs before i can move on to great jobs?

so to celebrate the first friday for our SIP, alvis, danny, hariz, fred, bharkha and me decided to meet up for dinner!

usually we always choose neighbourhood places but today we went town instead cuz i dont want to go all the way to the east cuz im staying all the way in north now!

as usual, friday are always crowded, filled with people! we walked around for quite some time before we settled down at breeks...

at first, we were thinking breeks isnt that expensive but we were wrong! the pricing can be abit killing :/

at least the portion is big so its still acceptable(:

after dinner, we went all the way to carrefour which is deep inside suntec city mall just for alvis's piano...

at least it was quite a worthwhile trip cuz we get to hear nice piano ochestra? :p

no la, just a short piano performance by "fred ng jing qing"

too bad, the uploading of videos on blogger is too slow...so i cant show you guys! :(

can we have such gatherings oftenly? i would like it very much!

First Day of SIP...

although danny, felicia and faharnah was in the same company as me, i still felt super lonely cuz im the only one in the upstream manufacturing department :/

danny is allocated to the QC department while the other two girls was under the validation department...

in other words, i wont get to see them oftenly other than in the morning?

and guess how i spent the whole of today!

READING SOPs, VALIDATION AND THEIR MANUFACTURING PROCESSES! :/

i swear it was super boring! and the best part is i was caught falling asleep not by my supervisor but one of my colleague that i was attached to!

he was like "is it too boring?"

me: "yea...i cant absorb by just reading"

him: "i think you try watching some videos..."

good thing he wasnt angry! *phew*

for once, i thought im gonna get scolded for falling asleep at work :/

time passes super slowly today and i totally felt so extra with them although they are really friendly people...

its like no matter where i stand, its just not right :(

from what my supervisor said, i going to do documentation for the next three weeks! although it seems rather boring but at least i get to learn something? (:

but it seem kinda difficult...

and im only getting my major project assignment in october! hopefully, by then i wont rush to submit my proposal :/ but i think my MP sounds kinda cool! im going into the cleanroom again! and this time round, no more fake cleanroom but the REAL ONE! ^^ hahaha!

crossing all fingers and toes that tomorrow's gonna be a better day!

Oh My Smurfs!

today is a bright and sunny wednesday! how was your day?

mine was SMURFantastic with zunairah! ^^

i declare that smurfs is a must watch movie!

below is are some of the trailers to enjoy and im sure after watching the trailer you will be tempted to catch it!

they are really smurfy cute(:

i shall introduced the main characters to you: their names are given according to their characteristics

Papa smurf: the 546 years old smurf which has the power to make potions, all the smurfs are his grandchildren

Brainy smurf: the Mr-know-it-all smurf who knows lots of information but usually lack of self-confidence

smurfette: the ONLY female smurf who loves to dress up, she also loves her beautiful hair. There is also a story behind why she is the only girl.

clumsy smurf: as the name suggests, he is super duper clumsy and also makes lots of mistakes

grouchy smurf: the very grumpy smurf who disagrees on almost anything. Nevertheless, he still follow Papa smurf instructions.

gutsy smurf: the courageous smurf who dares to do it!

the rest of the smurfs includes: baker smurf, vanity smurf, handy smurf, farmer smurf so on and so fourth...

and they are just ultra cute to the max, be it their looks, the way they speak(:

so go catch it before its too late!

after the movies, we went to eighteen chefs for waffles.

i personally find their waffle a little too expensive cuz for that size, i can bought that cheaper in school.

however, their waffle was quite nice(:

after waffling, we went shopping for new clothes. Actually, not us but me, i need to shop for clothes to wear for work! and of course i know it means a big hole in my pocket :(

Combined Pre-SIP Class Chalet

after planning for so many days, finally we were all waiting for the day where we can come together to a chalet...

as you can see, there are lots of photos, so i shall let the pictures tell the story:

buying food! as usual, we ordered from BBQ house.

so far, their food are the nicest although some items can be rather expensive...

then we arrived at changi halton terrace D

i swear the place is kinda ulu, there are not many buses around other than 29

and the scary thing is our chalet is near the OCH, its like you can see the hospital when you draw the curtains open :/

and at the last room, we can even see it clearer!

once we arrived, we had to even sweep and mop the floor cuz the floor was kinda sticky...

but nevertheless, the place was still a nice place, i mean its big and quite comfortable(:

and we also have to check the things they provided for us, whether are they broken or missing!

so many things and i can die counting each and every one of them! :/

since some of us arrived earlier, we decided to start with some games.

the 2nd floor are air-conditioned! but they are so stingy, we cannot exceed more than 25 units, if not they would charge us! :(

we were playing jack-jack, a game that involves hitting each other's hand!

see? whoever hands are the bottommost, good luck! hehe:p

and its taking ages! we used up a box of fire starters and guess what?

come to think of it, the charcoal looks really weird. like a longitudinal tube-hollow structure...

no wonder its so difficult to burn!

look at that big tray of satay sauce! i find it a waste cuz we didnt use much :/

its time to start the alcohol-drinking game!

sheral bought chivas and vodka to mix with soft drink...

i personally prefer chivas cuz it doesnt taste as strong(:

the rules of the game is rather simple. we just have to follow the instructions after picking one poker card.

we really laugh like mad throughout the entire game :D

i drank quite abit but of course i wasnt drunk or tipsy! i think my alcohol tolerance level is getting better?

up to 4 to 5 cups and im still pretty awake 0.0

we played all the way until 3am plus and i was really tired zzz

the rest continue until 4am plus...

early in the morning! and i didnt get sufficient sleep, i slept for like 1 hour plus? only enough for me until i reach home...

everybody was zonked out especially the guys cuz they didnt really sleep much

the checking out time was 9.10am in the morning which is like super early?!

i was expecting 11am or something...

packing up, clean up and everything and its time to go home!

lots of leftover food...
